Osteopathy during & After pregnancy

Pregnancy

Did you know that during pregnancy, the ovaries and placenta produce a hormone called relaxin that loosens and relaxes your muscles, joints and ligaments during pregnancy to help your body prepare for birth?

Changes during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the body makes various adjustments to create the best possible environment for the developing child. As part of this process, connective tissue softens, spinal curvatures change, and the overall gait and posture pattern is altered. This is normal. All of these changes put more pressure than usual on different areas of the body, such as the pelvis, but also the entire abdominal cavity and organs. These changes can occur without pain, but sometimes they can cause discomfort in the lower back, pelvis, legs and chest in particular, along with other areas. In addition, the hormonal changes can cause mood swings and energy level changes, as well as hormonal headaches. Nausea, heartburn and constipation can also occur during pregnancy auftreten.
